Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, in an interview with @OANN, stated that the designation of the Cartel of the Suns as a terrorist organization, which will take effect on November 24, "gives the United States a wide range of new options" to act against the Maduro regime. Hegseth declared that Maduro "is not a legitimately elected leader of Venezuela" and that "he is involved in drug trafficking and is formally indicted." "This gives our department more tools to offer the President options," he stated.
